Cat with Sardines - Original Mixed Media Monotype

Original mixed media monotype featuring a cat with sardines The artwork begins with a digital image is then developed through an experimental monotype printing process using a gelliplate and layers of acrylic paint.

Because the print is created by hand, each pull from the plate is different. While similar images may be made from the same starting photograph, the printing process, layering and paint application ensure that every piece is unique.

Printed on kraft craftboard, the natural texture of the material adds a raw, tactile quality to the image and enhances the layered character of the work.
